As a new or experienced sonographer it is important to keep your skills updated and reviewed by a qualified RDMS. The art of scanning requires cultivation and time to be perfected AWHONN and SDMS require that one stays competent in their area of practice through continuing education.  Experienced students may choose between a 1 to 3 Day Refresher Course. This training courses is designed to improve image optimization, interpretation and scanning skills. For new nurses, a choice of a 3 to 5 day course is required. Additional scans may be needed and will be verified by an RDMS until competency is completed. Our staff can provide additional on-line support and review scanning techniques upon request. The NEW 2023 didactic portion of the course consists of 10-15 hours of remote training which includes recorded on-line sessions, digital workbook, PowerPoint presentations, and instructional YouTube videos. Shari did an excellent job at teaching and explaining how to perform limited OB ultrasounds. She taught and explained it in a way you could understand and that made sense. I was able to perform many ultrasounds with Shari assisting and teaching me every step of the way. She was very patient with me and upon completion of this training I felt more confident with scanning and I learned a great deal. I am very thankful to Shari for this excellent training!

Shari did a wonderful job with the training! I felt very prepared by the didactic portion before I came in for the hands on section. Shari was intentional about making sure that I understood the "why" behind everything we did. I also really appreciated her follow up after the course to give me feedback on my scans!
